Lost in Abandon

2015_01Kingston-20

They left their bikes tied to a signpost and ran down the hill, hands clasped, giggling. After three years of waiting, they wanted nothing more than to lose themselves in each other. As they approached the water, he let go of her hand so that he could pull off his shirt. He turned to her, laughing, but she had suddenly become shy. Her hair fell in front of her face and her hand came up to cover her mouth. He leaned in, gently moving the curtain of hair away from her downcast eyes. She looked up, and as her eyes met his, she let her hand fall down to her side. He grabbed it, rubbing his thumb over the back of her hand. She smiled up at him and decided to lose herself to this boy, to this man he had become.

I’ve been nominated by afairymind over at Storyteller’s Abode to participate in the 5 Photos / 5 Stories Black and White Photo Challenge. She posted some great photos with some very compelling stories to accompany them – please check them out!

So this photo is for Day 2 of the challenge – I took this photo a few weeks ago when I took myself on a photo walk around a nearby neighbourhood. As I was leaving, I spotted these two bicycles on a corner and managed to get this shot from the window of my car. Taken with my Olympus OMD EM5 with my 45mm lens (90mm equivalent) at f/16, 1/160s, ISO640.

I’d like to nominate my dear Andy at Belgian Streets to join this challenge. He is one of my little circle of people who has just completed the poetry blogging course and produced some fabulous work – photos and words, he’s awesome at both so I think it makes sense to invite him to join in this challenge with us.

The rules of the 5 Photos-5 Stories challenge are:
1) To post a photo every day for 5 days
2) To write a story to accompany your photo for 5 days (this can be fiction or non-fiction, a page, a paragraph or a poem)
3) To nominate a different person each day

I also submit this photo to Lucile’s Photo101 Rehab Clinic – please come along and share your photos, and see some great work by other photo101 die hards.

x desleyjane

What a beautiful story…and haven’t we all been there?

I will be glad to join the challenge, and at the same time respond to a similar challenge from our mutual friend, Albert http://www.nty6x.com/blog/photo-challenges/bw-challenge-1/

    May need some time…
