It Wasn’t My Last Garden Shoot.

I did a shoot in my front garden last weekend and I wondered if I’d have time to do another one. Today, I did. I wandered around the back garden today, with my 60mm macro lens and got up to my old tricks of lying in the grass to get up close and personal with some plants. Here are my shots amongst the clover – it’s a weed, but I love it up close. I’ve included a shot with my index finger to show scale.

This week, we were asked for our Happy Place: where do we go to think, to restore ourselves, to get our groove back? For me, this is similar to a previous prompt asking us for our Muse. For me, it is getting behind a camera and going off in search of wonderful things to photograph, especially with my macro lens to discover the tiny worlds that exist all around us.

Clover in macro! How gorgeous! There is beauty even in the commonplace. When I was a child I used to sit in the clover, pick the flowers leaving the stems long, then use my fingernail to make a slit in the end of each stem and thread the flowers through to make chains I wore around my neck or in my hair. Thanks for rekindling the memory. 🙂

What a wonderful memory!! They are so tiny I am sure you could have spent hours making chains. So sweet. Thank you and my pleasure.

Beautiful! I’m glad it wasn’t your last shoot. I hope this one isn’t either. The garden is one of my happy places too. I plan to spend the whole afternoon in mine today. If I work fast, I may have time for pics after I clean up. 🙂

I am reminded of the times I used to suckle the sweetness of the clover, when a Young girl. Lovely.

Clover is so lovely in close-up and you would also be surrounded with the sweet scent when you were that close. I share gardening and photography with you as my happy place…

    Hi Desley:

Macro photography is so gorgeous. Commonplace things morph into something else, like an object created by a magician. I loved all your shots. It was a pleasant surprise to my tired eyes this Sunday early morning. Thank you for sharing.

    Bye,

    Omar.-
