Butterfly Flower.

Another gallery of shots taken during my recent Changing Seasons shoot.

I don’t know what this flower is, please let me know if you do? (I did pass Botany at Uni, but…..). It reminds me of an orchid, but it was growing almost 1 metre tall in large bunches. I’ve also seen them on the side of the road recently. I was quite taken with the colour and the markings and then I accidentally found a ladybug who was also taken with them, or so it seems.

For Lucile’s Photo101 Rehab Clinic.

PS – I had trouble getting to sleep one night about two weeks ago, so I wrote a whole bunch of posts (based on some extras from my Changing Seasons shoot and a garden shoot) and scheduled them out. If I don’t reply in a timely manner, my apologies, I am still caught up in work and moving and travelling for work. I’ll check in as soon as I can x.

It’s a beautiful flower. Butterfly flower is a good description. I thought it might be a crocus, but I googled crocus images and now I’m not so sure, but maybe it’s related. I have seen them around too. They are beautiful. The ladybird is cute.

Thanks Norah! I’m waiting for Pommepal to read this and tell me what it is 🙂 Crocus is a great guess, I caught a glimpse of that word in your comment as I was opening it and I thought YES! Let’s see if someone can tell us…

It is new to me…butterfly flower. It might be part of the orchids family, a cousin maybe, as it has some similar features.
It is so beautiful! And the ladybird is adorable. Handheld, I guess? Wow.
Hope you didn’t have many more sleepless nights! Although we benefit to get gorgeous posts like this, I prefer you healthy and rested.

ID by PP of course 🙂
I saw loads of them last year at this time around Sydney – so beautiful. Wish I was there now, though I have heard it is a bit wet at the moment.

At least you get the heat and sun to make up for the wet.

I can’t stand humidity either, I found Sydney too sticky for me last year which surprised me at that time of year. I actually prefer cooler temperatures now, or perhaps I’ve become acclimatised to them 😦

Yep I’m looking forward to (mostly) cooler temperatures in Melbourne as well.
