It’s iPhriday! I’m joining Lisa at Gray Days and Coffee to post a smartphone photo every Friday. Will you join in? I have 2 photos this week, but I promise there’s a good reason.
My friend and I were driving to dinner one night this week (he was driving) and we noticed how spectacular the sky looked at sunset. He was driving pretty fast, so it was tricky to get a non-blurry shot, but I managed to get this one through the windshield.
I imported this photo into Lightroom to do a camera correction to straighten the lampposts but it didn’t work and I don’t know why?! ๐ฆ
Onto the second part of my title – That night, I was rudely awoken by MissG at 3 in the morning and she wouldn’t stop barking really loudly (at nothing, by the way). I guess there was a cat outside my window, but regardless, she gave me quite a fright. My friend was sleeping in the living room and Iย didn’t want her to wake him, so I gave her a little smack, just a flick really. Of course, I missed her completely and hit mid-air. I let her outside for a few minutes and then we went back to bed. As I was turning off my lamp, I noticed a pain in my hand so I turned the light back on to check and it looked fine but was definitely very sore. I was so tired that Iย just assumed that a spider had bitten me and that the venom would travel up my arm and kill me during the night. Yes, I’m a drama queen when I’m tired.
When I woke up (luckily) the next morning (Thursday), I couldn’t hold my cup of coffee and the fleshy pad at the base of myย thumb (it’s called the THENAR, by the way) had swollen up quite a lot and it was starting to go a purple-red colour. I had an extremely busy day at work, with a lot of driving around, so I just put up with it and watched the colour develop.
Today is Friday and it’s even more swollen, quite painful and has started to go black (if you’re squeamish, turn away now):
Sheesh, I’ll never try to smack GG again. I went to the pharmacy today to pick up some things and asked the pharmacist what he thought. Heย advised using a compression bandage and seeing a doctor if the swelling doesn’t subside.
Awesome.
We are going to the Taylor Swift concert tomorrow night and I just realised I won’t be able to clap. So, I will send Taylor a shoutout tomorrow to let her know that if the applause sounds a little light tomorrow night, it’s because I can’t clap, but I will show my appreciation by screaming like a teenager instead.
Good grief.

PS I have a pink bandage for the concert, lol, I am such a child sometimes ๐
I’d love to hear from you!
