Macro Garden Series – 6

Isn’t this plant amazing? I was fascinated by it. And when editing it, the high contrast and clarity really brought out an almost painted quality to the image. This has become one of my favourite shots.

I was able to catch the end-phase of the plant as well.

Shot at Wilson Botanic Park with my Olympus OMD EM5 with my 60mm (120mm equivalent) macro lens.

    This is magnificent: those dramatic pink and orange contrasts; the contrasting textures and shapes; and the tips of light. One of my favourites too, along with that jewel one from a while ago.

      Oh thank you Meg. As I sit here at a tram stop in Melbourne city, shivering in the rain because I forgot my jacket (at least I have that fabulous umbrella), I am warmed by your comments. I love this one too. I scheduled these posts a while ago so it was a lovely surprise to see this one pop up tonight X.

    Love the rich clashing colours of the magenta and orange plus the texture and the decay. I’m puzzling as to what this is. Looks familiar. Any idea?
