Remnants of Breakfast

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

I have a colleague whose wife makes glorious cakes, really stunningly decorated cakes. He photographs them for her, for their website. He asked me to take a look at his shots and to go through some editing tips in Lightroom.

We met over breakfast before work one day while I was in Sydney and we talked a lot about photography in general – what makes a good photo, levels of light, and where to focus for optimum depth of field.

I snapped this shot, with the focus on the salt shaker and we quite liked how it turned out, with the salt, sugar and cup in focus, but my breakfast and the scene behind the table all softly blurred.

Maybe a #MundaneMonday shot? (a little late, I realise!)

You have elevated breakfast to new heights, Desley. Beautiful photo. Definitely not mundane!

Aw thank you. I liked the kind of randomness of this one.
