The Flowers of Brunswick East (37)

These shots are from prior to surgery.

I have photographed these before, but I have no idea what they’re called.

A quick shoulder update – I’ve told some of you in comments, but I’ll update you properly here. Before Christmas, I saw the physiotherapist and I wasn’t able to do a lot of the movements that he wanted me to do – I was pretty disappointed. I tried them a few times when I was up in Mackay and eventually I Was able to do them. I kept it up and then saw the physiotherapist again last week, which was 9 weeks post surgery.

He was very impressed with my progress. I’ve doubled the range of movement that I have in my shoulder now and I Β can stop wearing my sling (except in public of course). I was so happy to be able to move on to a new range of exercises designed to strengthen the tendons that I haven’t used for the last 4 or 5 months. I’m still not allowed to use the tendon they operated on – which means no flapping of my wing – but that’s ok. Slow and steady that’s what its all about.

Thank you to all of you for your questions and concern and care, I’m very glad to have you all.

Hebe or what we used to call it, Veronica. Native to New Zealand, and for some reason flowering here in Cornwall right now! Glad to hear your recovery is going well. That’s really good news πŸ™‚

Oh really? NZ?! How do you know all this! Thank you. Well it’s flowering here in Melbourne too! I saw it still in flower on one of my walls yesterday.

I have a bit of an obsession for Mediterranean plants which usually means plants from South Africa, Australia, New Zealand and Chile that grow in a Mediterranean climate.
