Five Minutes with Pink Gin – RegularRandom

Edit: actually this is a 10 minute shoot! I got carried away. I might have had a sip before I started!

Yesterday, June 9, was World Gin Day! I also discovered that it was World Rosรฉ Day, so I decided to buy some Pink Gin. I made a delicious cocktail (recipe below) and went on to my Saturday night.

But the drink and the bottle are both so pretty, that I needed to photograph them. I had also picked up some peonies yesterday morning, so of course I had to include those as well.

So for today’s RegularRandom, here are my shots (no pun intended ๐Ÿ˜‰):

Oops, I’m editing to add the recipe, as promised!

Start with ice in your glass.

Add a shot of Pink Gin (or ordinary gin of course!)

Add a splash of Elderflower Liqueur (the more you add, the sweeter the cocktail)

Add a dash of lime juice

Top with tonic water

Sip enthusiastically and enjoy ๐Ÿ˜

Would you like to join in the RegularRandom event? Hereโ€™s how:

  • choose a subject or a scene
  • spend five minutes photographing it โ€“ no more!
  • try to not interfere with the subject, instead see it from many angles, look through something at it, change the light thatโ€™s hitting it
  • have fun!
  • tag your post #regularrandom and ping back to this post

Looking forward to seeing your shots.

x desleyjane

you know I don’t think I have ever actually tried Pink Gin, how does it differ from standard or even blue gin? Also, where is the recipe? ๐Ÿ˜›

Oh itโ€™s fabulous. You can get elderflower tonic from Dan Murphyโ€™s so you donโ€™t need the liqueur! ๐Ÿ˜

What a stunning collection of photos. No wonder you got carried away. Iโ€™m particularly take by the mat with the wandering thread. And such delicacies of pink. My experiences with gin have been far less aesthetic!
