It must be tough having a birthday in the days leading up to Christmas. One of my friends at work, Anna, has her birthday on the 19th, and so we had a little morning tea to celebrate. I brought along a chocolate tart from my favourite bakery and we all enjoyed it on her day.
I don’t have any photos of that particular cake, but I did make a sacrifice and test it for us the weekend before, by way of a mini version of the cake. It’s a chocolate tart with a layer of salted caramel on the bottom, and it’s decorated with gold leaf, and freeze-dried as well as fresh raspberries.
It’s deliciously decadent. For me, it has a slight Christmassy feel, so I decided to set it up in a little Christmas table setting, with coffee of course!
I wasn’t going to use this for RegularRandom, but actually the photos were all taken within 6 minutes. I seem to have gotten into the habit of the 5 minute shoot!
As you can see, I included my pretty little pocket planner, which I’ve set up for Christmas. It was one of my kikki.K Planner Insider exclusive gifts and I love it. And of course, I thought it was perfect in this setting.
This will be the last RegularRandom until after the holidays. I’m currently in Mackay (Central Queensland) with my family for Christmas. Merry Christmas dear friends, I very much look forward to seeing you again in the new year.
Would you like to join in the RegularRandom crew? Here’s how:
- choose a subject or a scene
- spend five minutes photographing it – no more!
- try to not interfere with the subject, instead see it from many angles, look through something at it, change the light that’s hitting it (see below for some interference!)
- have fun!
- tag your post #regularrandom and ping back to this post
Looking forward to seeing your shots.
