I am so grateful to have met so many wonderful people here in this very happy place. When I started this blog just two short months ago, I had planned to share some photos, some travel-for-work stories and tips, and some reviews of hotels and restaurants. Well…it’s become all about the photos. AND I LOVE THAT! I have been an enthusiastic enthusiast since I was a kid, always wanting to play with Dad’s cameras and then revelling in getting my first (pink) camera when I was a teenager.
Anyway, I digress. It has been a marvellous two months, with photo101 starting so soon after I joined and I have found so many other dedicated photo-addicts out there, so many that my dear friend Lucile has started a clinic for us. Thank goodness. Be sure to check out herΒ blog for some lovely warm photographs and thoughtful insights.
So for today’s submission, I would like to share with you some shots from my Christmas tree – I think that some of these would make nice Christmas cards…maybe next year? Photo technicalities are in the captions, but basically I shot as wide open as I could (f/1.8 or f/2.8, depending on the lens) and adjusted speed and ISO to suit.
Merry Christmas to everyone! Thank you all so much for your kind words of support, your stories, your comments, your opinions, and most importantly your friendship.Β I will be backΒ in the next day or twoΒ for Justine’s Tea Time and maybe a couple of other things as well before we roll into 2015. Make sure you check out Justine’sΒ blog as well for some fun and inspirational challenges and posts.
Take care, stay safe, be merry and have a blast.

Thank you lovely. I forgot to mention that most of these were gifts. When my friends and I travel, we bring back Christmas decorations for each other!

Perfect for the season!
Like you, I started out my blog as something else entirely back in 2010 and it’s evolved over time into the hardcore photography site that you see now.
Oh, and loved the title of your site when I first stumbled upon it, which reminds me of my wife every time that I see it now. She’s a scientist, too — you can look her up (Cynthia, with the same last name as mine).
