Split in Two

Half&Half-1

This photo was taken at Shorncliffe Pier, north of Brisbane. Such a clear afternoon, not a cloud in the sky.

For The Daily Post Weekly Photo Challenge: Half and Half. Here is the prompt: This week, share an image that has two clear halves, literally or figuratively. You could focus on composition, like me, and take a photo with an explicit dividing line (either vertical, horizontal, or diagonal). Or take the theme in other directions: zoom in on a pair of objects that together form a whole. Show two people whose demeanor or personality complement each other. Or bring into balance two opposing visual elements — light and dark, color and its absence, sharp focus juxtaposed with blurriness.

Also for Lucile’s Photo101 Rehab Clinic.

Happy weekend everyone.

I really like this shot Desley, especially in monochrome. Makes me wish I was at the beach.

  3. A beatiful shot Desley. I’m doing some ‘blog catch up’ on my phone while my kid is taking his daytime nap.

      1. Yes, we’ve spent a few days in the mountains now, then back to Oslo for a week before we’ll go to the North. I’m vacationing with my son, so the fun parts are restricted to family friendly activities.

Thanks so much. I have a bit of a thing for b&w beach pics, I love the nostalgia it can create.

              Exactly!! LOL.
Usually I would just put them all in the one post but I decided to split them up this time. I have a big work week away and so I might not get time to write very much this week. Plus each one is quite different so why not 😉

  7. Great photo! I like the way you’ve used black and white here, because it makes everything look rather sombre and dull at first, but actually it’s a photo of a beautiful beach on a sunny day. It’s intriguing…
