I love roses and these buds were so pretty. I also couldn’t resist shooting the aftermath of flower death, with the bugs finishing it off.

These are really lovely shots. I particularly like the first. The blush on the petal, and the way the veins stand out, is beautiful.

Thank you Su! I appreciate that. It was a very bright day so I couldn’t see the screen. I was pleasantly surprised at how nicely that one turned out. X

Gorgeous. My favorite kind of flowers are the ones I can enjoy, but not smell!

Thank you! You don’t like the smell?

I’m allergic to flowers and the smell gives me headaches 😞 that’s why I love floral photography because I can enjoy the flowers without the consequence!

Wow! That’s not good! There’s a chemical compound based around styrene that smells like roses – we used to love making it in the lab 😉

I wonder if I could smell the chemical without the reaction?!? That would be cool. Although, I do have a hard time with perfumes that have floral tones in them…

I think it would affect you as well – you poor thing! 😦

Bummer. I am just so glad that I found a way to enjoy them. I can handle being around them for awhile (long enough to get some shots) then my body reacts. So I’ve been using my floral pics as ” visual fragrance” 🙂

Hey Desley, did you realise that the 3 pictures told a story. Budding, blossoming and death? I like!
