When I was photographing dewdrops on some plants in my back garden, I noticed a some spiderwebs on my dead lime tree š They made for some fascinating photos – not as sharp as I’d like, but hey it was 8 degrees Celsius and it wasn’t even 7am! Plus it was almost above head height so a little difficult to shoot handheld.
For this entire shoot, I used my Olympus OMD EM5 with the 60mm macro lens. The web in the photos above is about 5cm across, just to give you an idea of scale.
Finally in Lightroom, I did some harsh cropping and high contrast / high clarity editing to bring out these little jewel-like beads.
I had so much fun doing this shoot and even more fun in editing. I’ll send these photos to Lucile’s Photo101 Rehab Clinic – come by and see everyone!
Love love love photography!

Superb shots. Thank you for giving me evening pleasure. I really will have to investigate Lightroom, although I suspect your photos are well out of my league to start with.

You’re Ninja-DJ! WOHOOO..
Fabulous again. And you say that this is handheld, right? And you dare to say that it’s not sharp?
Which scientific measurements are you using? Because if you talk straight to the heart, mind and soul, this is perfection.

Wow thank you dearest. Yep handheld, shivering, with fog breathing out of my mouth! They are a little fuzzy when you zoom right in but I’m still happy with them xox.

I love this post. Some of them are, like you say, not perfectly sharp, but then again some of them are just fantastic! I really love the second to last one that has a touch of color in it, but this was an enjoyable gallery Desley.

Thanks so much CG. I love that one as well. No colour was added, that’s just what came out when I tweaked the light. Thanks again š

These are really lovely Desley, so crisp and clear (despite what you may say) and a very very clever capture.

Beautiful! And you just reminded me I took some shots of wet spiderwebs in the grass a few weeks ago that I never did anything with yet. How the heck did I let that slide? I think yours are nicer than mine. Maybe I won’t bother posting them now. lol

The clarity of these shots, Desley. They’re almost mind boggling. You were good at this photography business when you started, but you get better and better with each passing day. These are amazing!

Dewdrops/raindrops and sun bring out the best in spiderwebs. I love these shots, especially as they’re shots I love to take myself. In those first shots, they look like macrame or some sort of delicate are. Gorgeous shots!
