For The Daily Posts’s Weekly Photo Challenge : Time. ย
This photo was taken in Mackay, very near my home town – we were driving for dinner with extended family.
I like this shot – I took it from the car window (Dad was driving๐) with my Olympus OMD EM5 – such a fleeting moment in time. The light behind those amazing clouds shining just the right colour, the darkness of an impending storm, the river below.
It also reminds me of a moment in time. A short 10 days spent with my family, now that we’re apart for the first time in 10 years. It was my mum’s birthday this week and it was a tough day – it’s been a while since I haven’t been able to go out to dinner with them to celebrate.
But we have phones and iMessage and FaceTime and all those good things. And life is good here in my new city and my new space. My back is improving and I’ve been able to unpack a little more and sort a few things out. I’m hoping to get out for some photos soon. And I’ve been catching up with friends, old and new, and work has been really good fun as well, setting up a new office at the same time.
How has your week been? Enjoy your weekend everyone.

So many gorgeous layers in that photo. I’m glad it’s been a good week for you! My oldest came home yesterday from college for her sister’s band concert and she’s going to stay until Sunday, so the end of this week has been the best part.

A lovely post, and I’m so glad your back’s on the mend. Selfish of course, as well as concern for you. It means I’ll begin to see your Melbourne. I absolutely empathise with you when you couldn’t be with your mum on her birthday. My week? Lots of time on the beach with my three year old Polish grandchildren and delight in their games and inventions. Occasional time with their parents. They’ve all just left, so an empty house and empty hearts.

Oh no! I feel for you that they’ve all left. The house never feels so empty as when your family leaves. It sounds like you had a wonderful time with them. Yes I’m hoping to get out an about soon. We’ve been going to the park a lot, but not much shooting. X

I didn’t realize you were having issues with your back, and glad to hear it is getting better. It is hard to miss family time because of pain. This photo however, is glorious and worth framing and entering in a photo contest or art gallery. Sounds like you have been busy. Take care!!

Thanks so much Terri. My back is much better. Although not the reason for missing mum’s birthday. It’s the 3,000km distance separating us ๐

Fantastic photo of the tropical stormy skies, good interpretation of time. Pleased to hear your back is improving, now be careful, don’t do any heavy lifting… Hot, humid and lots of lovely rain this week, so I’ve been mainly indoors reading and on the computer. But the garden is growing like a jungle so when it cools down it will be pruning time.

Thanks PP. you’ll be happy to know that I’ve just walked GG and watched tv most of the day. I’m glad you’re getting some rain, but yes hot and humid is not fun and a great reason to stay indoors. Looking forward to seeing more of your garden. I just got my very first plant!!

I agree! I miss my plants from home. I was inspired this afternoon to go out and get some succulents for my pink plant stand!
