You should have seen me trying to get my finger in this shot to show scale. Typical balancing act – I was on the edge of a dropoff, shooting handheld (because I couldn’t be bothered carrying my tripod). The little receptacle (thank you Wikipedia) is the part that used to hold the petals of the flower. It is about 3 or 4mm across – very tiny. But very pretty.

  1. Beautiful image. I laughed at your description of trying to show scale. I’ve often been moving my finger(or foot) in to range to show scale , whilst looking through viewfinder and and made the flower shake or poked the wee insect into escaping. πŸ˜‰
