Oh coffee, what would life be like without you?
This week, I ran out of coffee, and then I was home too late each night to take delivery of my coffee order! Disaster!
So I started each day with orange juice at 6:45am and grabbed a coffee on the way to work at 9am.
I survived, but what it life if it’s just surviving? I don’t want to just survive. I want to thrive. And enjoy.
So, here I am celebrating my favourite drink.

This post is my Regular Random, where I spend just five minutes photographing a relatively random subject. Here are the rules so you can join in!
- choose a subject or a scene
- spend five minutes photographing it – no more!
- try to not interfere with the subject, instead see it from many angles, look through something at it, change the light that’s hitting it
- have fun!
- tag your post #regularrandom and ping back to this post
I took these photos with my 30mm macro lens. Silly me – I forgot to bring down my ISO from a previous shoot, so all the shots have been taken at ISO800 – a little grainy, but I’m ok with it.
These are Nespresso’s new Barista’s Choice pods, in flavours: Chiaro, Scuro and Corto. Here’s what Nespresso says about this limited edition collection:
Inspired by the world’s finest baristas and their understanding of the ideal harmonies of flavour and texture, our experts undertook years of new research to master the intricate alchemies of coffee, with and without milk. The results? Three new Limited Edition Coffees that allow you to effortlessly create perfectly-crafted Barista syle coffees at home.
I’m sold. They are very good – smooth with robust flavour. I usually drink my coffee as a flat white or latte, but sometimes, I’ll take a piccolo latte, just because I want coffee but with much less milk. I’ve never really been a black-coffee drinker, but maybe I’ll try it with these new pods. I’m enjoying a Corto right now, made as a latte, and it’s purely delightful.
Ah, sweet elixir of life.

PS – apologies for missing last week’s RegularRandom!
It is almost 23:00 hrs here, otherwise, I would drink coffee as your photos are enticing. Nespresso should hire you as a photographer.
Have a wonderful day, hun.

I couldn’t agree more about morning coffee, although I’m no connoisseur. Photographically I particularly liked the last collage with its reflections

Gorgeous shots!!! I’m sitting here waiting for my coffee delivery — though I buy beans. We had a Nespresso machine in the Melbourne apartment last week, but I still had to go out and find a old-school barista-made latte. Making coffee is part of my morning ritual, from grinding the beans to texturing the milk. I do some of my best thinking in that time (now what does that say about me)

I love that. Yes I do love the rituals. But mine has become – turn on machine, froth milk, press button. And I actually love the coffee that comes out of it. But I like the thinking-time ritual idea very much.
