Just before Christmas, I flew from Melbourne to Mackay to spend Christmas and New Year’s with my family – my Mum, Dad and brother. It’s been a lovely two weeks, just relaxing with family, recuperating my shoulder, visiting with relatives, watching the cricket (20/20 of course!).
We have taken a few opportunities to go out and get some shots while I’ve been here. First up, Mackay Marina:
Then, we went up to Lambert’s Beach Lookout for a bit of fun:
Another day, we also went in search of a sunset, but it was a no-cloud sky, so not very interesting. I had to find other things to add interest instead:
It’s been terribly hot up here, getting to 30 degrees Celsius by 8am each morning, with tops of 35 or 36 every day, and very humid and sticky. We thought we would get a reprieve last night (Tuesday night) but the storm just split in half and passed us by. We are still hoping for rain!
I don’t go back to work until next week, so I’m enjoying the break away while I can. I hope you’re having a great time, wherever you may be.

Looks as though you are having a great time and what a place to recuperate in. I wouldn’t mind joining you there except those temperatures and that humidity would turn me to mush!

Oh yes I’m a puddle of mush right now 😓

Two weeks back home sounds wonderful. I hope it has sent shoulder-healing into overdrive. I like what you did to bend sunset to your photographic will. I like the views through sunnies too.

Sorry Britta! It sounds like it’s sooo cold over there. It’s been so hot in Queensland, but a very pleasant 18 (celsius) here today in Melbourne. Hope you’re doing well!

Sounds lovely, Desley! It’s about 18 degrees Farenheit in Washington, DC right now. So chilly, but we did get some beautiful snow earlier today that really made the city look beautiful. Keeping poisitive in the cold. 🙂

I hear you about family – both my siblings live in the US, so I hardly get to see them at all!
