Hello and welcome to Regular Random! Sorry I’ve been away for some time, I’ll give you a little update at the bottom of this post 🙂
For now though, let’s dive into the beauty of this gorgeous little feather. It measure 7cm from tip to tip.
I was on my way to my car after work one afternoon when I spotted this tiny little feather on the ground, just outside the hospital where I’d parked. At first, I went past, but then I went back and picked it up and thought I might photograph it. I’m so glad I did, I just love these shots.
Today, it’s 7 minutes. I usually pick out my favourite shots from a 5 minute session, but today I’ve gone over with 7 minutes. I hope you love them as much as I do.

Exciting news! This piece has been printed 1300mm x 800mm and is going to be hanging on a wall in Brunswick – I gifted it to my friend and I can’t wait to see it up in her beautiful home! I’ll share some shots once it’s up and in situ 🙂
Ok so finally, a little life update since I’ve been away for so long. As most of you know, I had shoulder surgery in November last year. There wasn’t much I could do with a camera at first, and I was recovering, here in Melbourne, and then up home in Mackay with my family. Since coming back to Melbourne, my shoulder has improved dramatically, although all day shooting isn’t going to happen for a while yet. The physio and surgeon are both very happy with my progress and we are now working on strengthening the arm – the tendons and muscles that haven’t really been used in a very long time.
On the work front, things have been incredibly busy, with my manager away for her own surgery (quite a serious one) and recovery and so I’ve stepped in to perform her role as well as my own in the meantime. On top of this, we’re relocating our offices and labs into the new VCCC building in Parkville soon and there has been an enormous amount of work associated with that.
Very busy times, very exhausting times, but mostly good. I have a couple of other projects going on which are very exciting, and I’m looking forward to sharing more about those soon.
