Remember when Julie and I shot frozen flowers? One of the flowers was a peach-coloured rose – so pretty. Julie has this great dark corner set up with a scarred old wooden table, so we set up the ice block there to shoot it in the dark, so different to the light and bright shots from earlier.
So there you have another RegularRandom – I hope you can join in:
- choose a subject or a scene
- spend five minutes photographing it – no more!
- try to not interfere with the subject, instead see it from many angles, look through something at it, change the light that’s hitting it
- have fun!
- tag your post #regularrandom and ping back to this post
Looking forward to seeing your shots.

There’s a touch of the Gothic plus a sense of mystery with these iced roses, Desley. Great stuff! Am responding with some hot yellow: https://tishfarrell.com/2018/05/06/five-minutes-in-a-very-yellow-field-regular-random/

These are fabulous. I like Tish’s gothic comment — very apt.
