Edit: actually this is a 10 minute shoot! I got carried away. I might have had a sip before I started!
Yesterday, June 9, was World Gin Day! I also discovered that it was World Rosé Day, so I decided to buy some Pink Gin. I made a delicious cocktail (recipe below) and went on to my Saturday night.
But the drink and the bottle are both so pretty, that I needed to photograph them. I had also picked up some peonies yesterday morning, so of course I had to include those as well.
So for today’s RegularRandom, here are my shots (no pun intended 😉):
Oops, I’m editing to add the recipe, as promised!
Start with ice in your glass.
Add a shot of Pink Gin (or ordinary gin of course!)
Add a splash of Elderflower Liqueur (the more you add, the sweeter the cocktail)
Add a dash of lime juice
Top with tonic water
Sip enthusiastically and enjoy 😁
Would you like to join in the RegularRandom event? Here’s how:
- choose a subject or a scene
- spend five minutes photographing it – no more!
- try to not interfere with the subject, instead see it from many angles, look through something at it, change the light that’s hitting it
- have fun!
- tag your post #regularrandom and ping back to this post
Looking forward to seeing your shots.

you know I don’t think I have ever actually tried Pink Gin, how does it differ from standard or even blue gin? Also, where is the recipe? 😛

typical, apart from the ice I have nothing in the recipe lol. I have never tried Elderberry or Elderflower either…apparently I need to leave my rock hehehehehe

Oh it’s fabulous. You can get elderflower tonic from Dan Murphy’s so you don’t need the liqueur! 😁

What a stunning collection of photos. No wonder you got carried away. I’m particularly take by the mat with the wandering thread. And such delicacies of pink. My experiences with gin have been far less aesthetic!

Thank you! The mat is a runner from Freedom. It’s copper and fabulous, came on a roll.
