If you’ve known me for a while, you know I love the skies. The may not be evident of late, with my posts of cakes and flowers and planners dominating my feed, but it’s true.

I don’t travel anymore (hardly at all) but I used to travel almost every week, sometimes multiple times each week, and while I don’t like the logistics of air travel (checking in, waiting, luggage, packing, taxis, people), I do love the serenity of the flight – I always get a window seat and spend a lot of the flight just watching the clouds go by, lost in thought.

Melbourne Skies-1

I have been vocal about Melbourne’s lack of “decent” storms lately, and it’s true, we don’t get the kinds of storms that we used to get in Brisbane, but I do love Melbourne so much. I love the weather, I love the people, I love the city, and I very much love the skies.

I have a large balcony with uninterrupted views of this big beautiful sky, so I spent some time at sunset capturing these images last weekend. Of course, I really love to play with the light and colour during the editing process, and I’m happy with the way these came out. I’ll use the pink ones as backgrounds 😊

Those ones with the green-ish skies remind me of movies like Independence Day – a massive, surreal sky full of anticipation.

Merry Christmas lovely people.
