Happy New Year everyone.

It was a wonderful 2018 in many ways, with some not great parts. For me, it was the year that kikki.K found me on Instagram and asked me to collaborate with them on an amazing project and I’m so happy with how it turned out.

In 2018, I started the year recovering from shoulder surgery, but I soon settled into myself again in Melbourne, and I very much settled into my job – a job that makes me happy. Oh it makes me mad at times, but mostly makes me very happy.

I had some wonderful experiences, met some amazing people, and best of all, I spent time with the people I love. Granted, not enough time with faraway friends and family who I love dearly and miss all the time, but we stay in touch and we get together when we can.

What will 2019 bring? I’m hoping for more opportunities in photography and stationery, and for more time with the people I love, those both near and far. I’m also planning some travel (more on that in a later post) and I’m excited for the photographic opportunities that will provide.

What are you hopeful about for the new year?

PS some notes on the photos. I spent New Years Eve with my dear friend Moana in Brisbane – my old hometown (well, hometown for fifteen years). A few of us had drinks at a bar on the river, followed by 7-course dinner at a wonderful Japanese restaurant called Saké. We left just in time for the midnight fireworks, where I was able to capture these photos. Not great technically, because I was handheld, a little wobbly from a few Gin&Tonics and camera pointed up into the night sky. One day, I will photograph firebirds properly, with a tripod, but for now, I’m happy with these.
