I took the Metro to Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam and was struck by the immensity of this escalator. I had my iPhone (8 Plus) in my hand so I snapped a quick shot while stepping onto it.

I love the scale and the ascension into light. Also, I think the shadows work really well in this shot.

  2. I so love the first edit of this shot. It reminded me of scenes in the film “Mishima, a life in four chapters” which used the same soft pink to convey an americanisation of Japan in the 1950s. Yours has a different mood, but is equally moving.
