Paris – partie un.

Oh Paris.

I’ve always wanted to go there, but have never been before. In the last couple of days before my flight home from Amsterdam, I took the fast train to Paris, for just a day trip. I took a ‘hop-on-hop-off’ bus and saw the sights – even to make me desperate to come back again. It’s now what I’m saving for!

So, I thought I would share my Paris trip with you in a couple of parts. Here is part one, or ‘partie un’ 💕

These are some general city shots – I have other series coming that focus on The Eiffel Tower, The Arc de Triomphe, etc – these ones aren’t so specific.

So much traffic.

The last two photos here depict the serious traffic jam that occurred on my way back to the train station. What should have taken about 20 minutes, took an hour and 20, plus a 20 minute walk when the bus driver told me he was skipping the station (lucky I asked).

    Some fabulous images here DJ. Paris does get into the heart somewhat and you were lucky with the weather! It’s a bit more grim when raining 🙂 I look forward to more shots. Taking a hop on hop off bus is the sensible thing to do on a day trip otherwise you wouldn’t see very much, but yes the traffic can be a nightmare and especially when there are demonstrations happening (which is fairly frequent in France!). Not sure if you ever saw my recent Paris posts on Travel Words, but if you are bored then you might like to have a look. The photos are no way as good as yours though!

      I absolutely loved it – as you could tell 😊 The traffic was crazy, but yes I was very lucky with such great weather. More photos to come! I would love to take a look at yours…

    I went to France for the first time in December–but to Strasbourg. We crossed over from Germany and spent about twenty-four hours there.

    I loved Strasbourg and how French it felt there. Strasbourg is right on the border of Germany and has a history of going back and forth between France and Germany, but it still seemed so French to me. I definitely want to get to Paris one day and experience more of France for myself. Lovely pictures, Desley!
