Tell me…

Scary or exhilarating?

To see the world from this perspective??

Photos taken one weekend late afternoon from the carpark of Dreamworld on the Gold Coast.

EDIT – I just found out about the roller coaster accident in the UK. My heart goes out to those injured. X

Submitted to Justine’s Eclectic Corner #12 – Perspective (Photography). Justine defines perspective below. I’ve kind of combined the two definitions into one 😉

1. the art of representing three-dimensional objects on a two-dimensional surface so as to give the right impression of their height, width, depth, and position in relation to each other.

2. a particular attitude towards or way of regarding something; a point of view.

Do you have a photo for Perspective to share? Drop by Justine’s Corner and join the fun.

I’m submitting these photos to Lucile’s Photo101 Rehab Clinic – come by and visit, there are over 500 photos there from some very talented people.

  1. OMG I think my breakfast just came up, that physically made me dizzy…haha…wow, fabulous shots, I just love the twists and turns, what a stunner to come up with for this subject matter, thank you Desley! High Five ❤ xxx

  2. My only perspective would be from the ground. I have never been on a roller coaster and don’t intend to change that any time soon. The UK accident today convinces me I have the right perspective on that!

  3. Photos are amazing on a event that as you know is miraculous. So much has to be just perfect. Have you seen the test that a rollercoaster has to endure before it is ready for the adventurous riders. Terrible when an accident happens.

  4. I’ve always had mixed feelings about roller coasters – I don’t hate them but they’re not something I’d go out of my way to ride. After the accident at Alton Towers, though, I think I’ll be steering clear of them for the forseeable future. Great shots. 🙂

  5. Such great shots for their clarity and simplicity. You’ve captured the whole twisting, scary, vertigo inducing ride so well that I never have to go on one again! Fantastic take on perspective

    1. Thanks Deb. When I saw it through the lens, I knew I wanted to make it black and white to really simplify it. The sky was very blue and the roller coaster is a pinky-red very like Lucile’s bridge.

      1. Well they work brilliantly in black and white, so great call! Just admiring the HEAVY frost outside and trying to get myself psyched up to leave the warmth of the fire to go off to work. ❄️

        1. I hear that! I’m sitting by my window in a teeny tiny sliver of sunlight but I can see the cold dew on the grass outside. Not quite frost here in Brisbane (😁) but close enough. It was 6 this morning!!

  6. I had no idea what I was looking at when I looked at your color photo. That ride looks so scary. I think it is safe to say I will never take it, and I generally “never say never.”
