This week a slightly different take on the five minutes. I know I usually say “don’t mess with the scene” but how could I not?
It has been an insanely (but unfortunately not unusually) busy week at work this week and I felt like a recovery day was required. It was a hot day today (I’m writing this on Saturday night) and after taking Miss G to the park and then a short appointment, I decided to go via the Wine Store (yes, that’s what it’s called) and pick up a bottle of Prosecco – just what a girl needs on a hot lazy Saturday afternoon.
On the way back, I dropped in at the restaurant downstairs to have a chat to the owners – I haven’t seen them in a while and I always like catching up with them. Plus they had cake. Angel cake, as it turns out. They convinced me to add a scoop of honey ice cream, which I have to say, was an inspired choice.
So, I thought I had to shoot it. And enjoy it. Photography time was a little over 3 minutes, so that’s technically in line with the RegularRandom rules, but clearly, I “interfered” with the subject 😂
Here are the shots:
So, this week, feel free to do the usual RegularRandom (rules below) or maybe try something like this, where the interference affects the subject in a profound way (that’s a neat way of saying I ate the cake, right?!).
How to join in:
- choose a subject or a scene
- spend five minutes photographing it – no more!
- try to not interfere with the subject, instead see it from many angles, look through something at it, change the light that’s hitting it (oops, epic fail here today)
- have fun! (sure did!)
- tag your post #regularrandom and ping back to this post
Looking forward to seeing your shots.
