Five Minutes with Poppies (or Ranunculus?) 1 – RegularRandom
Today was a gorgeous day where in Melbourne – 17 degrees, with beautiful warm sunshine. I slept late, I caught up on some YouTubers I’d been missing, then I took Miss Gidget to the park. Everyone was out and about with their puppies, enjoying the fabulous warmth. A quick stop at the bakery (you know what the next set of photos is going to be!), and then a slow drive to the pet store for some treats for G. The slow traffic was no problem with the windows down, the roof open, and the music playing.
Such a nice day.
I drove past a little market with flowers lining the front, and so I stopped and picked up two bunches of flowers for just $4.50 each!
It seems like an age since I spent time photographing flowers. It’s certainly been a while. As I’m sure you know, it’s one of my favourite things to do. So, here is a little five minute session – I moved between the two bunches during this shoot.
I took so many photos and had a lot of fun editing them. This is just the first five minutes, and I have a couple of little sets that I want to share separately as well. I hope you enjoy them.
Would you like to join in the RegularRandom crew? Here’s how:
choose a subject or a scene
spend five minutes photographing it – no more!
try to not interfere with the subject, instead see it from many angles, look through something at it, change the light that’s hitting it
have fun!

Looking forward to seeing your shots.

An absolutely sensational series. They are ranunculuses, not that it matters.

Thanks so much. I thought they were ranunculus too but the sign said poppies and when I did a little google search it seemed right… hmmnnn
