I discovered a new-to-me coffee place last weekend, picked up a very good takeaway flat white, and a croissant for the next day’s breakfast.
Today, I stopped by there again with Gidget to get another flat white. They let me bring her inside the very tiny store to order my coffee, and I saw this very pretty French Early Grey Tea Cake – I thought it would make a perfect RegularRandom.
I took these with my Olympus OMD EM5 with the 30mm macro lens.
Here are some shots from the shop, and my treasured flat white. I’m not addicted to coffee, we’re just in a committed relationship.
Would you like to join in the RegularRandom crew? Here’s how:
- choose a subject or a scene
- spend five minutes photographing it – no more!
- try to not interfere with the subject, instead see it from many angles, look through something at it, change the light that’s hitting it
- have fun!
- tag your post #regularrandom and ping back to this post
Looking forward to seeing your shots.

I don’t like tea, and I certainly don’t like Earl Grey tea, BUT that does look like a pretty cake on a very pretty plate. I just wonder if it tastes like tea… 🙂

I have never heard of Earl Grey Cake, but I do like the tea? Does the cake taste like the tea, or just go well with the tea I wonder?

I have a strong aversion to Earl Grey tea, but I can see how it would work well flavouring a cake. Your images are gorgeous and I would never tempted to try just a little piece 😀

I don’t like Earl Grey either. None of those floral teas for me! But the cake was yummy.
