I’m not usually one for doughnuts. Unless they’re spectacular, and that’s the only way I can explain this one. It’s from my usual bakery. I went in to get some bread but this caught my eye – I’m always looking for something that has some height or texture or some other kind of interest, and this one has it all!

So of course I had to shoot it for the RegularRandom challenge 😁

Inside is a lovely custard with little pieces of apple. And the outer coating is a hard toffee – you can break it with a fork of course. I took 6 minutes with this shoot, so sorry for cheating. I used my trusty Olympus OMD EM5 with the 60mm macro lens – this lens ?I can’t live without. It’s love πŸ’•

Would you like to join in the RegularRandom crew? Here’s how:

  • choose a subject or a scene
  • spend five minutes photographing it – no more!
  • try to not interfere with the subject, instead see it from many angles, look through something at it, change the light that’s hitting it
  • have fun!
  • tag your post #regularrandom and ping back to this post

Looking forward to seeing your shots.
