The Sweet Life – 1

I was invited to The Portarlington Mussel (not Muscle) Festival last weekend. It was a lovely day – basically a market with a lot of vendors selling all sorts of things, including mussels, fresh from the boat. They were delicious!

However, what I was fascinated with was the huge array of Macarons (not to be confused with Macaroons!!) on display at one of the stalls. I bought 5 of them and want to share them with you, one by one 😁

The first one I’m going to share with you is the Espresso one.

I should mention that these are jumbo macarons, but they were delicious. They are crisp, chewy, sweet, but not too sweet with a delicious creamy filling. Very nice. And great for the macro lens. Of course!

    I’m told they are just sugary pap! But I haven’t tried one myself – and the name is very confusing as they CAN be called French Macaroons! Anyway, your macro macarons are fabulous and that’s all that counts… 😀
